Polygon is a wider ecosystem, while this directory primarily helps users find tools compatible with Polygon Chain, the EVM network formerly commonly called Polygon PoS. Polygon Chain uses chain ID 137 and POL as its native gas token. Older interfaces may still display MATIC terminology, so verify the current network details rather than relying on a remembered label.

- Onchain analytics expose transactions and contracts, while bridges handle supported cross-chain routes.
Same EVM address, different network state
A wallet can display the same hexadecimal address on Polygon and Ethereum, but the balances and contracts are separate. POL used for gas must be on Polygon Chain. When moving an asset, verify the source chain, destination chain and token contract. A matching ticker does not prove that two assets use the same contract or bridge route.
Before approving a dApp interaction, inspect the requested allowance and confirm that the application is connected to Polygon Chain rather than another EVM network.
