GeckoTerminal tracks the markets where tokens are exchanged on decentralized exchanges. Built by the team behind CoinGecko, it brings a pool’s price chart, liquidity, trading volume and recent swaps into one page. Its focus is market analytics at the token, pool, DEX and network level.
Reading a pool rather than a single global price
A pool is a market backed by token reserves; its trading pair identifies the two assets exchanged. The same token can have several pools, each with its own paired asset, liquidity and trading activity. GeckoTerminal lets you inspect the selected pool and its DEX instead of treating every matching symbol as the same market. Charts use TradingView tools, with time intervals, indicators and drawing controls.
Discovery pages show trending and newly created pools. Pool watchlists keep selected markets together for later monitoring. Available token-security fields can include contract warnings, holder concentration and developer-wallet activity; their coverage depends on the token and network.
Fit, access and coverage
Useful for: checking the market behind a token quote, following a newly indexed pool, reviewing recent swaps, or retrieving DEX data for a script or application.
Less suited for: users who need a service that itself holds assets or processes their trades, or a definitive security assessment of a token.
Account required: no for public pool pages and charts.
Wallet required: no to read market data. Third-party swap functions have their own wallet requirements and conditions.
The browser interface needs no installation; official iOS and Android apps are also available. The web interface offers English, French and other selectable languages. The blockchain badges on this profile describe networks whose market data is tracked. They do not promise that every token or DEX on those networks is indexed, or that swaps are available on each network.
Costs and developer access
Public market research is available without a paid subscription, and the GeckoTerminal Public API is offered without a usage charge under its terms. REST endpoints provide token and pool data, recent trades and OHLCV candles: opening, highest, lowest and closing prices, plus volume. The public API has request limits. CoinGecko’s separate paid API plans provide additional access to onchain data; they are distinct from browsing GeckoTerminal.
GeckoTerminal states that it does not process swaps or hold tokens. Using an integrated third-party exchange can involve that provider’s charges and network fees, which are separate from reading charts.
Limits of the displayed data
GeckoTerminal describes its token and pair data as raw and unmoderated. A listing, trend position or security score does not certify a project. Market fields can be incomplete, and a pool’s quoted price is not a guaranteed execution price. The service’s terms exclude guarantees of accuracy, security and uninterrupted availability.
