Avalanche is a network of blockchains. Its Primary Network contains the EVM-compatible C-Chain, the validator-focused P-Chain and the asset-focused X-Chain. Avalanche L1s can add their own execution rules, fee systems and native assets. Most general dApps and Solidity-based tools target the C-Chain, but “Avalanche support” should still be verified.
Browse the C-Chain ecosystem
Use wallets that specify C-Chain support for EVM dApps. Onchain analytics and portfolio trackers need to index the correct Avalanche chain, while bridges should state both the route and destination chain. Builders can compare developer tools for RPC, contract and Avalanche L1 support.
Check the address format and fee asset
- C-Chain: uses EVM addresses and AVAX for standard gas.
- P-Chain and X-Chain: use different functions and can appear differently in wallets.
- Avalanche L1s: may define their own gas token, permissions and virtual machine.
Do not select a tool from the Avalanche logo alone. Confirm the exact chain, destination address and asset before signing or transferring.
