Travala is a travel-booking platform for accommodation, flights, activities and car rentals. It suits travellers who want to search across these products and pay with either supported cryptocurrencies or traditional methods.
Booking and payment
Searches use the destination or route, dates and traveller details relevant to the product. Each result has its own price and provider conditions. At checkout, available methods can include credit or debit cards, payment services and more than 100 listed crypto and traditional payment options. The exact set can differ between the website, mobile app and individual booking.
A wallet is optional: card and other traditional checkout methods do not need one, while direct cryptocurrency payments require access to a compatible wallet or payment service. Crypto payment must be completed correctly and within the displayed reservation window. Blockchain confirmation delays can leave an order marked as expired while Travala detects the payment and retries the reservation.
Access and decision points
- Useful for: booking several types of travel product from one service when cryptocurrency checkout is important.
- Less suited for: users who need one universal cancellation policy, a guaranteed refund to the original crypto asset, or payment methods that never vary by booking.
- Account required: optional for public search. The booking flow may require an account, and one is required for Travel Credits and AVA Smart membership. Travala may also request identity or compliance information.
- Wallet required: optional. It is not needed for card payment but is needed to send cryptocurrency directly.
Costs and limits
Ordinary booking access does not use a published subscription price. The total depends on the selected travel product, taxes and provider rules. A card surcharge can be shown before payment, while changes and cancellations may carry Travala or supplier fees. Some rates are non-refundable.
Refunds for many cryptocurrency payments are generally issued as Travel Credits under Travala’s terms. These USD-equivalent account credits can pay for future bookings but cannot be withdrawn or converted to cash or cryptocurrency. Exceptions and the applicable refund route depend on the original payment method.
