pump.fun combines a coin launchpad, a trading interface and a social feed. Its standard launch flow creates user-generated coins on Solana, while the current web and mobile interfaces also display supported assets from other networks. Users can browse coins, profiles, callouts and livestreams, then create or trade through a wallet-backed account.
How launches work
A standard Solana launch begins on a deterministic bonding curve rather than an order book. Buys and sells change the curve price. Once the graduation threshold is reached, the migrated assets form the coin’s canonical PumpSwap pool. The creation form accepts a name, ticker, description, social links and an image or video; these details cannot be edited after creation.
What you can do
- Create a coin: choose SOL, USDC or a custom liquidity pair and review the optional settings before signing.
- Trade and monitor activity: follow bonding-curve activity, PumpSwap pools and supported assets displayed across the platform.
- Use social discovery: search coins and profiles, read callouts, comment and view livestreams subject to moderation.
Costs to understand
Creating a coin has no platform fee. Graduation to PumpSwap costs 0.015 SOL. Bonding-curve trades carry a 1.25% total fee: 0.30% to the creator and 0.95% to the protocol. Canonical PumpSwap fees vary by market-cap tier and paired asset, while non-canonical pools list a 0.30% total fee. Certain mobile and EVM transactions may use different rates. Network and third-party interface costs are separate.
The amount shown before signing is an estimate; the applicable smart contract determines the final fee.
Decision snapshot
- Useful for: launching a Solana coin without manually creating an initial liquidity pool, or discovering and trading supported coins in a social interface.
- Less suited for: users looking for verified issuers, fixed transaction pricing or order-book trading.
- Account and wallet: browsing is public; creating or trading requires a sign-in or compatible wallet and enough balance for the transaction and network costs.
- Main limits: coins and social content are user-generated, transactions are irreversible, fees can change and availability may vary by region. Graduation does not verify the coin or its creator.
