Prices can come from centralized order books, decentralized pools, or aggregated indexes. Compare venue coverage, quote currency, update frequency, candle construction, treatment of illiquid pairs, and whether volume is verified or estimated. A delayed or composite price may be suitable for research but unsuitable for rapid execution. Token symbols alone are unreliable identifiers; contract addresses matter for onchain markets.
Evaluate the full execution workflow
If a tool places orders, inspect supported venues, order types, routing, slippage controls, fee disclosure, transaction simulation, and failure handling. API keys should use the minimum permissions required, ideally without withdrawals. Wallet-based tools should clearly show what is being signed. Fast interfaces cannot compensate for poor liquidity or excessive price impact.
Use alerts and automation as aids
Screeners and alerts reduce monitoring work but can miss events because of indexing delays, provider outages, or misconfigured filters. Test notifications before depending on them. Compare saved layouts, mobile support, exports, collaboration, pricing, and cancellation terms. No indicator, signal, or copied strategy can guarantee an outcome; risk limits and independent verification remain necessary.
